![]() Lolwhut? I have a 60B right here, running 31 policies across 6 active interfaces, with protection profiles and all. The 60B was crippled by 40 users half a dozen firewall rules and NO protection profiles. I hope like hell that Juniper and Fortinet products light a fire under their ass, but in spite of all the negatives, they are still top dog in my book. ![]() Things do not suddenly break (short of hardware) like other firewalls. If it does not work, it continues to not work. I *do* know that the FortiManager has required 3 or 4 patches in its first week of use because it kept locking up, so I also admit to a bit of bias.I understand what you are saying, though - I fucking *HATE* FWSMs and there are some drawbacks to Cisco products in general, but it has the number 1 feature that I care about - Cisco products are consistent. When your only interface is at the command line? When the majority of people you hire do not require training on Cisco products? We just got a couple of FortiGate firewalls set up for our network-based firewall at work, so I am sure I will eventually learn them, so I am not qualified to say much right now. I honestly can't think of a situation where I would prefer to use an ASA vs. It's easier to use than Cisco's gear, and FAR cheaper. Quote:I really REALLY like the Fortigate stuff. With SmartNet, you can pretty much call up Cisco support and have them configure your stuff and solve all of your problems for you. That's the overwhelming advantage of buying Cisco gear and SmartNet. I understand why they do that- there are a lot of people that learned IOS and like that all of Cisco's stuff is based on that. Their products are rock solid and do everything, but their pricing is ridiculous, and the UIs (graphical and command-line) are flat-out archaic. Yeah, but an ASA won't beat the pants off of a Fortigate unit.I really REALLY like the Fortigate stuff.
